Mariah Carey is an Obsessed Man

Mariah Carey dresses like a man and shoots her new “Obsessed” music video outside New York City’s Plaza Hotel on Monday (June 29).

In the video, the 39-year-old diva dresses a lot like Eminem. The singer seems to be responding to Slim Shady’s unflattering references to her and her husband Nick Cannon from Eminem’s track “Bagpipes From Baghdad.”

In the song “Obsessed,” Mariah reportedly tells Eminem: “Why are you so obsessed with me/ Boy, I wanna know/ Lying that you’re sexing me/ When everybody knows/ It’s clear that you’re upset with me….You’re delusional/ Boy, you’re losing your mind.”

The video was directed by Brett Ratner, who originally cast Andy Samberg for the role of the man. But because it’s presumably anti-Eminem, he backed out and Mariah filled in for the role of the man.

Reunited D12 and Potluck Announce the ‘Dazed and Dirty’ Tour

The reunited D12 have announced the dates for their upcoming "Dazed and Dirty" Tour alongside Humboldt County hip-hop duo Potluck. The tour will kick off August 16th in Scottsdale, AZ and run throughout September with the final show in D12’s hometown of Detroit, MI on September 26th.

"It seems like we love to go on tour with MC’s from Detroit. We first got news about this when we were on tour with Twiztid and they told us how cool Bizarre and the D12 crew are. They said that it would be a good tour for us to do," says 1 Ton from Potluck. "D12 has been putting it down on the underground way before they got a chance to take it to the next level so I think it will be a good match. You take their style and combine it with our Pothead hip-hop fans and it should be a great time. This tour will be a grand celebration for all who come to the show and party with us."

The reunited D-12, also known as the dirty dozen, is a collection of the best Detroit-based rappers which includes members Bizarre, Swift, Kon Artis, Kuniva and Eminem. D12 released a series of highly successful albums including their 2001 debut, "Devil’s Night" and 2004’s "D12 World", both of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. The tour is the first time the Detroit based group will hit the road since the death of founding member Proof.

Crowned the hip-hop royalty of Humboldt, CA, Potluck’s infectious brand of rhyme has been reigniting an otherwise extinguished hip-hop game. The group released a series of independent albums that are now considered underground classics, before joining forces with Suburban Noize Records and releasing their new album "Pipe Dreams". Since then Potluck has soared to the upper echelon on the hip-hop underground touring and collaborating with everyone from E-40 and Tech N9ne to hip-hop legends like X-Clan and Jurassic 5.

Eminem, KISS to perform at Voodoo music fest on Halloween weekend in City Park

Eminem, in his first, and possibly only, full concert performance this year, will join Kiss as a headliner at Voodoo Experience 2009 on Halloween weekend in City Park.

Other announced acts include the reunion of the original Jane's Addiction, The Flaming Lips, Justice, Drive-By Truckers, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Q-Tip, The Black Keys, Ween, JJ Grey & Mofro and the Squirrel Nut Zippers.

The festival runs Oct. 30 through Nov. 1.

The Experience also boasts dozens of New Orleans musicians, including Galactic, Mutemath, the Preservation Hall band, the New Orleans Bingo Show, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Rebirth Brass Band and Cyril Neville's Blues Revue with Tab Benoit.

Voodoo producer Stephen Rehage let slip earlier this year that veteran hard-rockers Kiss would be the Halloween night headliner, performing along with popular Georgia jam band Widespread Panic.
CHRIS PIZZELLO / THE ASSOCIATED PRESSThe rock band Kiss poses backstage after performing during the American Idol finale in Los Angeles this year.

From 1997 through 2002, Widespread Panic performed multiple nights at the Lakefront Arena at Halloween. After a six-year absence, the band returned for two nights in 2008. This year, Panic will be part of the 11th Voodoo Experience.

"Kiss playing is huge," said Rehage, who noted that he dressed as a band member for Mardi Gras when he was about 12. "Eminem is not touring -- not playing any other shows is what we've been told, so that's pretty massive, and the original Jane's Addiction -- that's great stuff."

Last year, the festival drew about 130,000 people, Rehage said, down from about 143,000 in 2007.

"That was part of the reason why we decided to move the festival back to Halloween this year," Rehage said, noting that New Orleans is becoming one of the top destinations for people who want to travel for Halloween fun.

"We want to put the flag back in the ground on that one and be in New Orleans for Halloween."
Galactic is among the local bands set to perform at Voodoo Experience 2009.

Throughout the years, the festival has brought together a collection of talent that has bridged social, economic and generational gaps in an event that features nearly every genre of music while at the same time celebrating New Orleans' bohemian culture, arts and cuisine. Three distinct performance areas -- Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival -- and eight stages each highlight a side of the city's personality.

The day-to-day schedule for New Orleans' signature fall music event, which will be held in City Park's Roosevelt Mall, will be announced closer to the event, but more than 150 artists are listed on the talent roster for this year's event.

Voodoo is set in historic City Park, amid lagoons and one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world, in the shadow of the New Orleans Museum of Art and just minutes from the French Quarter and Central Business District.

That setting was in jeopardy this spring when the Voodoo Experience and City Park discovered a scheduling conflict. In March, the festival and the park resolved the problem to return Voodoo to the park. The 2009 Voodoo fest is the last under a 10-year agreement with the park. And, because Hurricane Katrina rendered Voodoo's previous Scout Island/Marconi Meadow site unusable, that agreement has been amended each year to specify the festival's home within the park.

Eminem Shoots Video For 'Beautiful' in Detroit With Director Anthony Mandler

Eminem Shoots Video For 'Beautiful' in Detroit With Director Anthony Mandler. (PRNewsFoto/Interscope Records)

TRACK IS FOURTH SINGLE FROM HIP-HOP SUPERSTAR'S PLATINUM-ALBUM RELAPSE

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- As Eminem told followers of his Twitter blog last week, the hip-hop superstar has completed shooting the video for "Beautiful" -- the fourth single from his platinum album Relapse -- in Detroit. The video was directed by Anthony Mandler.

The video was filmed at noted Detroit landmarks, now past their prime though in many ways now more iconic than ever. Through locations such as the once-grand Beaux-Arts train station (Michigan Central Station, which was built in 1913), the original Tiger Stadium (built in 1912), and the old Packard Motor Car Company plant (established in 1903), the viewer sees both Detroit's grand past and very real present, and Eminem finds in Detroit a new metaphor for the lyrical content of the song.

"Tiger Stadium is being torn down, and the train station is supposed to be demolished too. This video is one of the last times anybody outside of Detroit is going to see them," commented Eminem. "I wrote 'Beautiful' when I was really down, during a difficult time struggling with my addiction. It's a reminder to keep your head up, and to see who you really are despite what you may be going through. Now that I've gotten through the toughest part, I see how the song relates to Detroit, and it feels even more powerful to me."

Eminem's first album since 2004's 4x-platinum Encore, Relapse went platinum within four weeks of its release by Interscope Records on May 19th. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart, selling more than 608,000 copies in the U.S., and more than one million worldwide, in its first week alone.

Nick Cannon says, ‘Mariah Carey Is A Good Rapper

TV Guide network recently featured an interview with Nick Cannon where he spoke about a little bit of everything including Mariah Carey’s new single “Obsessed,” a new (comedy) album, being the host of America’s Got Talent, even Mariah Carey being able to freestyle rap and more.

“She’s actually a good freestyle rapper, people don’t know that. She’s actually better than I am,” stated Nick Cannon.

The host of TV Guide even takes a jab at Eminem stating, “A rapper, maybe she can have a freestyle battle with Eminem. Or wait, isn’t that who her new song Obsessed targeting anyway.”

Alchemist Conjures Up Eminem, Lil Wayne, Maxwell For 'Chemical Warfare'

From Maxwell to Lil Wayne to Snoop Dogg, Fabolous and Three 6 Mafia, The Alchemist stocks a pretty potent guest list on his upcoming second studio album, "Chemical Warfare." But the New York-based producer and DJ doesn't hide the fact that he's most proud of snaring Eminem, for whom he DJs regularly, to feature on the title track.

"It was definitely a feat for me," The Alchemist (real name Alan Maman) tells Billboard.com. "I've been working with him for years as a DJ and been affiliated with him, and I always felt like...it was gonna lead to some type of relationship where we could collaborate musically, and it finally got that point now and it just feels good to be able to pull that off."

The Alchemist says the "Chemical Warfare" track was one of a couple of beats he submitted to Eminem, "and that one sparked him. At the end of the day I just wanted him to be himself on it. I didn't want to give him any direction, 'Yo, this song is' or 'I want it to be about this.' It really wasn't a concept; it was more of just Em doing his thing on the type of production of mine I thought would fit him. It's real tip of the iceberg-type shit. It's gonna make people want to hear more -- that's what we intend to do."

In fact, he expects to be stepping back into his DJ role with Eminem in the not too distant future as the rapper both continues to promote his "Relapse" album and prepares for the expected fall release of "Relapse 2," which The Alchemist says "is ridiculous" -- in a good way, of course.

"We've been discussing a lot of ideas between me, (Eminem) and Mr. Porter" from D12, who's serving as Eminem's new hype man, reports The Alchemist, who executive produced the 2006 compilation "The Re-Up" for Eminem's Shady Records label. "We've been discussing a lot of concepts and ideas that we can do. A lot of things are going to happen, I think, that are gonna be exciting."

In the interim, The Alchemist is on the road with Evidence to promote "Chemical Warfare" -- which comes out July 7 -- as part of the Rock the Bells tour. He's also preparing to roll out Gangrene, his group project with Madlib's brother Oh No; their song "Under a Siege" appears as a bonus track on "Chemical Warfare."

Moby Happy to Have Fallen Off Eminem's Radar

Moby may not have the massive sales he once did but the dance music star has found a silver lining in that cloud -- namely being able to avoid highly publicized feuds. "One of the good things about not being a gigantic superstar in the United States is that I can say terribly inappropriate things and luckily it's kind of underneath everybody's radar," he told Spinner during a recent interview. "Like when I had that feud with Eminem, one of the ways that started was because I was doing interviews like MTV or 'Entertainment Tonight,' and I said stuff that I thought maybe was mildly controversial and then all of a sudden there's this huge feud that I have no idea how it started."

These days, Moby has even grown to admire his former nemesis. "I have quite a lot of respect for his talent, and I think as a public figure it's pretty remarkable how he came from nowhere and became one of the most biggest controversial figures on the planet," Moby says. "And I had a lot of respect for the song and video 'Mosh' 'cause it came out around the 2004 elections and it was really critical of the war in Iraq and the Bush administration, and I thought for him, given his demographic, that was very courageous to do."

But mostly, Moby is happy to just be ignored by the rap superstar. "I think he saves his wrath for like active, famous, well-known public figures, and I think I've fallen off his radar," he says. "Thank goodness I'm not really worthy of his ire."

Paris Hilton: I almost had Sacha Baron Cohen’s bum in my face

Paris Hilton was asked to be part of Sacha Baron Cohen’s prank at the MTV Movie Awards last month.

If things had been different, the scantily-clad comedian, 37, could have landed with his buttocks under the nose of the pretty American socialite instead of Eminem's.

‘I was asked if I wanted to be involved in something that was going to be crazy,’ explains Paris.

‘I didn’t know it was going to be Sacha Baron Cohen hitting someone in the face.’

Paris, 28, is glad she didn’t take part in the sketch because she doesn’t think her family would have approved.

‘I love him and think he’s hilarious,’ she tells Extra. ‘But I don’t know what my parents would think.’

After the incident, Eminem 'stormed out' of the ceremony but later admitted he'd been in on the gag.

Mariah Carey 'Hits Back' At Eminem

Mariah Carey has allegedly hit back at Eminem on her new single Obsessed.
According to reports, Mariah has responded to Em’s track Bagpipes From Baghdad by giving her own version of events in the first single from upcoming album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.
The rapper recently taunted Mariah on the Relapse album track where he talks about dating Carey (despite the singer strongly denying the romance) and stealing her away from hubby Nick Cannon.
Although this enraged Cannon, Mimi never responded to the We Made You star…until now!
Mariah has now reportedly retaliated in her new song singing: "I was like, 'Why are you so obsessed with me?”
Although the singer never mentions Slim Shady by name, the track is thought to refer to the rapper by targeting his drug problem which Em discusses on Relapse.
Carey sings: "It must be the weed, it must be the E/ 'Cause you be poppin', you get it poppin.”
The chorus continues to apparently refer to Eminem stating: "Why are you so obsessed with me/ Boy I wanna know/ Lying that you're sexing me/ When everybody knows/ It's clear that you're upset with me,"
The We Belong Together singer also calls the subject matter of the track ‘delusional’, ‘confused’ and claims the person is ‘losing their mind.’
At present, Eminem has refused to comment on the song but we feel a comeback track coming on! Let the battle commence…

Soulja Boy Tell'em Impressed By Eminem

MTV wrote:
This is going to be a huge weekend for Soulja Boy Tell'em. On Saturday, he's one of the performers gracing the stage at Atlanta's Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash, and he's also set to perform on Friday at the SuperJam concert for Greensboro, North Carolina's 102 Jamz. This summer, the 19-year-old will be traveling all across the country, along with Young Jeezy, Drake and Lil Wayne for the America's Most Wanted Music Festival. Performing such high-profile sets on the same bill as A-list rap superstars is never a worry for the teen hitmaker — the fans will remember him by the time they leave the building.

"I don't really look at nobody as competition," Soulja said. "I feel like I got my own lane, and I don't have to worry about nobody. Anybody I feel is competition, I gotta knock them out the box. If there's anybody that ever crossed my mind — [where] I say, 'Man, he might be a problem for me,' then I'mma have to get rid of him. But as far as getting my inspiration for stage performance, it has always been Michael Jackson. I remember I watched the DVD ... Michael Jackson came and stood onstage for 10 minutes. They was screaming the whole 10 minutes. I actually imitated that a couple of times in my show."

Soulja, who's working on his The DeAndre Way LP, also said he wouldn't mind hitting the road with another icon, Eminem. If Slim Shady should tour, Soulja says he wants in.

"I like his new music," he said. "It's different from what's out. I think it's good. It's good for music. I'd open up for Eminem — lot of cheese right there."

Soulja says he's respected Em from early on in the Detroit legend's career.

"Back in the days, I was tuned in to it," Soulja explained. "I wasn't too heavy into it, but he's got some classic stuff. He used to come on TV, I used to be like, 'That white boy go hard. Real hard.' "

‘Please listen to rapper Eminem’

MINISTER of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Macford Sibandze caused a stir at Mantenga Cultural Village on Saturday evening when he urged people to take their time and listen to United States’ rapper, Eminem.

Eminem is famous for foul language, but he has sold millions of albums despite that. He normally chooses his targets well, which perhaps explains his success. In his speech, the Minister said he often found inspiration from some of Eminem's verses. The gathering justifiably responded with laughter.

However, Eminem was not the only artist whom the minister referred to on the day as he also picked a line from one of Peter Tosh's songs, which implies that one may not know what he is looking for, only to find that thing is within him.

Sibandze seemed to be on the roll as far as quotes were concerned as he also quoted Shakespeare and relayed his messages well to the audience. He also used a very complicated word, which appeared to be a mix of Spanish and Belgian. Unfortunately, the author cannot repeat the word here for fear of victimisation.

On a cold night at Mantenga Cultural Village, the food was out of this world, the dancers very charming, the people cheerful, and the beer definitely flowed like the Nile.

Eminem To Reunite D12 For New Album

As if releasing two albums in one year isn't enough, Eminem is also planning to reunite his Detroit crew, D12, and release the first new album from the group in five years.

Slim Shady said on BET's "Rap City: The Relapse" special on Friday that D12 are planning to hit the studio soon to begin work on the disc. The yet-unnamed album from the crew will be their first since the death of member Proof three years ago, a death that Eminem has said caused him to go into a depressive spiral of drug use.

"Me and the guys, we got a bond, it's special," Em said of the group, which also includes Bizarre, Kon Artis, Kuniva and Swifty. "It's like, as far as the future of D12, we're gonna be back in the studio soon."

D12 have released two albums, 2001's Devil's Night and 2004's D12 World. Part of the reason Eminem said he decided to reform the group for a third album was because of his respect and love for Proof, who was his best friend and one of his biggest supporters when the then-unknown D-Town MC was trying to make a name for himself.

"Right now, my music would probably be the same [if Proof was still alive]," Em said in the "Rap City" interview. "I think this is what Proof always wanted, was for me to go crazy again. My life would be different because I would still have him."

D12 reunited for a one-off performance last month to celebrate the release of Em's Relapse album.

Mariah Carey Throws Punches at Eminem

The stilettos are about to come off. Mariah Carey is firing back at a certain “Obsessed” rapper on her new single.

The pop diva may be giving Eminem a taste of his own medicine on “Obsessed,” the first single off her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Mariah and Eminem were rumored to have had a romantic relationship in the past. Since then, the rapper has made songs about their alleged affair, most recently on his new album Relapse (“Bagpipes From Baghdad”). The “Touch My Body” songstress has remained relatively quiet about the topic until now, despite her husband Nick Cannon’s outspokenness

The-Dream, who helped pen the new single, spoke to HipHopDX about the answer record. “I don’t think anybody is going to expect her to come out punching like she is going to come out,” he said. “It’s going to light the blogs up too because you don’t know who she talking about, what she talking about, but she talking about something. Mariah Carey has a record, and somebody’s going to be very upset.”

Mariah recorded a track called “Clown” for 2002’s Charmbracelet that addressed her relationship with Eminem. “You should have never intimated we were lovers/ When you know very well we never even touched each other,” she sang.

Find out who’s subject to Mariah’s fury when “Obsessed” officially goes to radio on Tuesday, June 16.

Eminem's 'Crack A Bottle' Video Leaks

Three-headed monster is on its way.

The video for Eminem's "Crack a Bottle," featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, hit the Web late Monday, and although none of the platinum rappers appear in the clip, the song has plenty of references to each star.

The video opens with a homeless woman seated on the ground next to a shopping cart filled with her possessions. The woman experiences a maniacal fit before reaching out for a paper bag that conceals a 40-ounce bottle of liquor. Once the bottle is free from the bag, it splits open to reveal an apartment building and the camera zooms in on room 313 — which also happens to be Detroit's area code.

Enter Slim Shady. Well, not exactly. But despite the rapper's absence, the scene is straight from the depths of Em's (at times) warped mind. A businessman, gagged and tied to a chair in a dilapidated room, is taunted by a mentally unstable version of himself. Images of an innocent-looking girl and, oddly, an elephant flash onscreen before the man escapes and Em's verse ends.

The camera then pans up to room 213 — Compton's area code — which contains an L.A. tattoo parlor. Dre's lyrics sprawl across a beautiful woman's body as she sits in the ink artist's chair. Pit bulls, lots of smoke and other Cali symbols appear on the screen, as well as Shady Records artist Cashis.

As the third verse begins, the camera moves up to the top floor of the set to room 718, which undoubtedly is 50's suite — the number is a nod to Queens' area code. Fif's room is decidedly flashier than the others to match his club-friendly lyrics. And there are more girls and cash in 50's scene than smoke in Dre's.

When 50's verse ends, the camera pulls all the way back to the woman from the beginning of the video. She reaches for the bottle but finds that it's empty. For good measure, she tosses the bottle, smashing it into pieces.

Back in February, Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg, wrote about the clip on his personal site, saying it would be done in two weeks. The video was directed by Syndrome, the production company that also helmed Em's "3 A.M." "Crack a Bottle" was one of the first Relapse tracks to leak, but it is the third official single, behind "We Made You" and "3 A.M."

When "Crack a Bottle" first premiered, all three artists — Em, Dre and 50 — claimed the track, but the song ultimately landed on Em's album. Next up for the trio are the releases of 50's and Dre's long-delayed albums, Before I Self Destruct and Detox, neither of which has a release date as of press time.

Method Man And Redman To Eminem: 'We're On Your Tour!'

LOS ANGELES — The good news for Eminem is that Method Man and Redman are coming on tour with him. The bad news? He doesn't know it yet.

"Hey, Eminem," Method Man barked into our mic recently, giving a heads-up to Sunday's MTV Movie Awards main act. "F--- that. Yo, Paul! We're on the tour, man!"

"Paul!" Redman chimed in, also addressing Em's manager, Paul Rosenberg, directly. "Hey, Paul, we're on the tour, baby!"

"You know my number," Redman said to Rosenberg. "Yo, Eminem. Yo, Paul — we on the tour, man."

"Even if he don't put us on, we're coming in through the back door, jumping onstage," he added.

Although the duo may not be fans of "Twilight," there are two things they love: Eminem and being on the road.

"We're gonna jump on Em's tour — we're putting it out there," Method Man revealed. "We do tour a lot. I'd say altogether 10, 11 months a year."

"Honestly, I'm gonna tell you exactly what that is — that's how we get our bread now," Red said. "That's how MCs make their money. Those royalty checks come like babies — every nine months.

"Plus, we enjoy doing shows," he added. "Anybody who's come to a Method Man and Redman show knows that we give 110 percent every time we're out there."

"Plus, our movie 'How High' branched us out to a different audience," Method Man agreed. "When we go around the world, the majority of our fans are a different descent than us — which is cool. I love it. That just shows we're more outgoing with our music."

And while Eminem seems to constantly be on the verge of wanting to retire, Method and Red say that they'll never get tired of touring.

"We're gonna be doing shows at 50, 55," Redman grinned.

Eminem Rocks MTV Movie Awards With Energetic Medley

The musical performances at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards got off to an energetic start as Eminem took the stage to perform a medley of two songs from his brand-new album, Relapse.

Capping off a stirring comeback five years after his last record, Em took the stage to perform his first two singles off the new album, "We Made You" and "Crack a Bottle."

Dressed in jeans, white sneakers, white hoodie, vest and cap, the rapper stepped down the stage's staircase and pumped his fist as he launched into "We Made You," telling the crowd he was "back by popular demand." Staying behind Em on the steps throughout the performance was a big band that included drums, sax, trumpet and trombone. The crowdmembers immediately came to their feet and it seemed as if Slim Shady had never been away at all.

For the next song, he announced to the crowd that this was "the moment you've all been waiting for," presenting a vigorous version of "Crack a Bottle." Em stalked around the stage, slapping hands with eager audience members as digital lyrics flashed on and off on the steps behind him.

As the second track came to a close, the rapper said thank you, flashed the peace sign and headed away, surely leaving the crowd hoping he won't be gone for long this time around.

Eminem Hangs With Jim Carrey, 'Twilight' Stars With Zac Efron:

The show is over, Andy Samberg left everyone in stitches and MTV News was there to capture every little moment, even the ones that went down when the cameras weren't rolling. As always, the MTV Movie Awards gave celebrities that you'd never expect to see together the chance to meet.

(For the full behind-the-scenes story, check out the live blog!)

One example of odd coupling was Jim Carrey and Eminem hanging out together in the VIP green room. And then there was Eminem and Jonah Hill chatting. Slim Shady obviously a fan of comedy, his run-in with fashionista Brüno during the show not withstanding.

Jonah Hill Catches Up With New Friend Eminem

onah Hill and Eminem used this year's as a way to catch up — and to reveal their friendship to the world.

The pair were spotted talking backstage, and when Hill stopped to talk to MTV News, he told us they're friends and mutual fans.

"Eminem says his favorite movie is 'Superbad,' ever of all time," Hill said. "And he said to me, I'm not kidding — this is not like me being, 'I'm cool' — he said if there was an award for best movie ever, he thinks 'Superbad' should win. He quotes all the scenes to me."

The pair have become friends through "Funny People," the next Judd Apatow flick starring Adam Sandler. "We just worked together on a little secret project," he said of the Movie Awards performer. "He's in 'Funny People,' and he's, like, an awesome guy, so when I saw him, he's like, 'Come back and hang out,' so we went back in the trailer. Me and all his friends talked for a while, and he's really cool. He's a really awesome guy."

On Saturday, Eminem told MTV News he's looking for the right script to get back into acting. Hill thinks comedy is the right direction for Em. "He said he loved doing comedy," Hill said. "And that he really enjoyed it and improvising."

Brüno Lands On Eminem

If the 2009 MTV Movie Awards had an award for Most Outrageous Presenter, it would surely go to Brüno, who surprised an unamused Eminem with a front-row view of his manhood.

When it was his turn to present the Golden Popcorn statue for Best Male Performance, Brüno, the gay Austrian fashion reporter, descended via wires from the rafters dressed as some sort of S&M angel — if an angel would be wearing oversized wings, a white gladiator's costume and a jockstrap — and introduced himself in German, "Ich bin Brüno." He then appeared to get caught up in his suspension wires, flipping upside down and writhing in apparent pain before asking to be lowered to the floor.

His request was quickly granted and he crashed to the ground — upside-down and directly on top of Eminem, wrapping his legs around the rapper's head, exposing his bare buttocks within inches of Em's face. "Eminem, nice to meet you," said Brüno.

Eminem, who had just returned to his seat after performing a medley of two tracks from his new album, Relapse, was not pleased. "Are you serious?" he said, uttering an expletive and demanding that his bodyguards get Brüno off of him.

A minor melee ensued as Brüno continued to dangle above Em and Em's protectors tried in vain to remove a winged Brüno from their row of seats.

"Hey, don't touch me guys!" cried the Austrian. "I've already got a boyfriend. Hey guys, let's continue this in my hotel room!"

As Em left his seat, Brüno asked, "Is the real Slim Shady about to stand up?"

Stand up he did. He then proceeded to leave the auditorium as cameras followed his exit.

Meanwhile, Brüno was still suspended haphazardly above the crowd, yet still managed to present the Best Male Performance award. "The winner is Zac Efron for 'High School Musical,' " he said.

A nonplussed-looking Efron had a tough act to follow — "That was really weird!," he said — but he was gracious in his thanks for his award, singling out MTV and "the most amazing fans in the world," as well as his "HSM" castmates.
